First off, Happy New Year to all. I haven’t been updating for a long long while partially because I was very caught up with my work and dedications.

It’s the time of the year when I look back at 2010 and noted out some of the things which clearly  made my year (either great or miserable).

1. Someone broke into by car and stole the car battery

I still have no idea how someone could open up a locked car hood and took out the battery.

2. Became an avid photographer covering certain events and functions (such as), and getting some good shots off people as well.

1. CSSUPM Annual Dinner 2010.

Had a great time with great retro dressing models.

2. Now I See Spiritual Revival Concert 2010.

I wasn’t an official photographer for the event but since anyone can basically just go up front to take photos, I just went ahead. Anyway. Shot for 2 concerts, first one was in New Era College Kajang, and the second at a University in Sunway.

3. Staged photoshoots.

Managed to ask Joanne & Leo, Fang Wen and Shirley & Ezone to model for me. I still feel that the photos are lacking a lot though. Need more practice.

4. Desmine and Melissa’s Wedding

My first ever Wedding photoshoot. And I didn’t do quite well. Hmmm. But they are a loving couple. Apparently starting a family soon ^^.

5. UPM Dogathon 2010

Once again, not an official photographer. But I reckon I got some great shots that day.

6. CSSUPM Annual Camp 2010

Camp 248

I realized I didn’t blog about this since I was on a break. Regardless I had a fun, great and emotional time at Port Dickson.

7. Chinese Opera Charity Concert

Actresses and Daniel

This was a charity event so I wasn’t paid for it (nor I was for most of the events). But still enjoy taking photos of the actors and mostly actresses on stage. Also didn’t blog about this but most of the photos can be found on my Facebook.

8. Alex and KaeChing’s Wedding.

Kae Ching and Alex

Was a guest but that didn’t keep Esme (my camera) away. They finally tie the knot after… 7-8 years?? And they will surely have many more years to look forward to.

9. CSSUPM Freshies Day.

Dance 1

Welcoming the lovely juniors to the family away from home.

10. English Language Dinner

Group 24

Was called to shoot this event. More photos on Facebook. Though I think I was paid for this. Since the dinner was free for me ^^.

11. Some random shots of people around me

Chapel Milo Party 13

Nova might kill me for this. But its a lovely very descriptive shot.

12. Macro photography.Bee 1Bee

Loving the Tamron 90mm lens I have right now.

3. Met Karen Kong during Alex and KaeChing’s wedding.

I’m a fan for hers though not so recently. But I do like some of her songs. Did managed to get a couple of photos of her.

Karen Kong on stage 3

4. Won a few tickets online for miscellaneous events.

Ticket 1

Tickets to Moto GP UK from Air Asia, which I didn’t go because it was in the UK. And they gave me the tickets 1 week before the event.

Ticket 7

NTV7 Star Live Concert 2010 tickets from which I gave to Sally.

I did won tickets to Alice in Wonderland special screening though… I misplace the photo but I gave the tickets to TJF and Wei Keat. That particular screening was pretty harsh on my wallet though cause even though I got the tickets for free… I was fined for speeding on my way back from the cinema TT.

5. Got my photo published in a magazine.

I remember I intended to get a photo out in a magazine during my 2010 resolutions which I made in 2009. And in November 2010, I got my first photo out in the Digital SLR Magazine Malaysia October 2010 issue. I submitted the photo in September and I was very disappointed when it didn’t come out in the September issue but was really shocked when I saw it in the October issue. Won a memory card as well. Hurray for me.

6. Took care of a CAT for a whole month.

Smokey 5

Smokey isn’t mine. She’s Sandy’s cat but Sandy is having her break so I offer to take care of her. And she is one timid cat. Enjoy my time scaring her all over the place. She’s going back to Sandy soon though. I might miss her. But she’s better off with Sandy since I found out that I can be quite a bully Smile with tongue out

7. Lost some weight.

I have no proof of this yet though since I haven’t weight myself for sometime. But since most of my jeans are a lot looser than they was, I guess I should have lost a few kgs. But definitely didn’t reach my target of 65kg. Perhaps somewhere within 70kg to 75kg. I’ll keep trying the coming year.

8. Cried my eyes out during the CSSUPM Annual Camp.

Camp 186 (captioned)

I did mention that it was emotional but you would never guess how emotional it was for me. Perhaps only the few who sat beside me knew what had happened. But it got me to change some parts of me though I guess. Some parts of the evil me still remain but I’ll slowly take care of that.

9. Travelled all over Malaysia.

I went to Malacca, Johor, Penang, Kedah, Pangkor, Perak and also went back Labuan for a few weeks. Didn’t managed to go outside Malaysia though like in 2009 when I went Taiwan. But AirAsia is already flying to South Korea and also New Zealand next year. These destinations are really tempting me. Maybe I will really fly to this places in 2011.

Went to AIMST university in Kedah when my sister enrolled there.

Monkey 9

Got attacked by monkeys and leeches during my trip to Pangkor. It was funny though.

Went to Malacca with CharYong to meet up with FangWen for her photoshoot.

10. And finally… Made a decision to get my doctorate by 2013.

I have to graduate by then. Seriously I have to!!! Working hard on it now. Progress this year had been better than the past years but its still a long way to go and I still can’t see the end of the road. But I’ll keep walking… And I have to go on a faster pace as well. Lets do it!!!

I hope your 2010 was as eventful as mine ^^

On this day, 23 years ago, a baby was born.

And that baby was me.

He’s normal by day… But at night he become…

Power Rangers Alan Tan.

Okay… Enough with the bulls#it. Happy birthday to me. How did I went through the day I turned 23 years old you ask?

Well… First off… Its the third day of CNY. So can hardly expect much celebrations since CNY is more important. Secondly, since I’m in Labuan, there’s less celebration as well, since I prefer to be relaxing at home. And third, this must be the first birthday I had with me suffering from a toothache T.T

Anyway, many thanks to SingYee and LeiHong for the yamcha session at McD. They even gave me a photo album as a present. Thanks a lot. I’ll print out all the nicer photos I have and keep it in that album. It will become a collection of my ‘work’

Later that night, there was the 3rd open house I attended throughout this CNY. Have to attend it since it’s my aunt’s open house. Brought my camera along and after the food, just snapped away, especially with my baby cousin as the model.

In the end he got so annoyed with me taking photos of him that he made that face 😛

My sister was one of the more reluctant models.

There was another gathering the next day for some of my friends. We met to drink at one of the pubs and later went for a photo session in Grand Dorsett hotel.

It was during this photo session that I really feel that I need more practice taking photos at night (And possibly a shotgun flash)

Some of the photos:

L-R: Michelle, WeiEn, GeokFang, LeiHong, YawSing, SingYee

They were suppose to model but seems like both the models and the photographer fail to communicate well.

At least we got some nice shots even though their pose seemed really forced.

The main-and-only thorn among the roses.

And then they chose to pose with the dead plant. Lol

Final shot of the guy and girls before leaving.

Anyway, my very much anticipated photo session with Yvonne as the model got cancelled off after some unexpected things came up. I do hope to be working with her soon though.

Oh ya. I inserted the ‘Power Rangers’ photo above to generate more hits coming from Facebook. Did it work? 😛

P/S: 23 years old. I’m OLD. Do I need to start planning about MARRIAGE and HAVING A FAMILY? Lol.

Just wanting to wish you all a Happy Chinese New Year 2010. Happy Year of the Tiger 🙂

I’m currently back in Labuan for my CNY holidays. It’s like a short break for me from lab work which I hadn’t really been doing much lately. After this break really have to work hard already.

Arrived in Labuan on Friday morning. Thanks to Juliana for bringing me to the ERL station at Putrajaya Central. We even saw a comet on our way to the airport. Refer to this post.

Barely managed to make it on the 9am flight. Imagine I was still on the train at 8 a.m. but thanks to ERL, the ONLY public transportation which is NOT overcrowded and LATE, I managed to make it with minutes to spare 🙂

Flight’s on board of the plane was good. The sambal udang with the nasi lemak is something I really enjoyed. Too bad the landing wasn’t so smooth though. Had me thinking that we might crash for a moment there.

Worst thing about my return to Labuan thus far? I’m having a toothache. Shoot. I can’t really enjoy myself. Feeling tired almost everytime and find myself having to take a nap every now and then. Lousy toothache seem to be draining my vitality. (It could be a wisdom tooth since I feel some swelling)

First day of CNY and second day of CNY pass by just like that. Didn’t do much visiting since I seemed to have gotten past that habit quite some time ago. Been to two open houses thus far and its kinda hard to enjoy the food with the toothache. Brought ‘Esme (my camera)’ along and tried her out a bit. Here are some photos

Connie visited as well. She can be a good model. Haha. (Shot was taken by Cindy)

Me and Connie.

So far, what I’m liking the most about Labuan is my bed and not having to do much things except to relax 😛

Going to go out with some friends tomorrow so I do hope it’s going to be a nice day ahead 🙂

Happy CNY everyone.

Talk about rush… I guess I haven’t really been into one until yesterday..

Imagine this

I got into the plane at 10am… The plane flew at 10.25am… The plane arrived at 12.25pm… We got our bags and waited till 1.00pm… The uncle came and fetch us back UPM at 1.05pm…

Then… We reach back UPM at 2.00pm… And then, I went to get back car at 2.20pm… And at 2.40pm went on my way to fetch the 2 girls…

Reach GreenBox Cheras Selatan at 3.10pm and at 3.25pm, started to sing K…

This is the first time I gone to GreenBox straight after coming back from the Airport…

Which proves that the 2 girls are really really professional in rushing… Haha

Rush for K1

~I got too into the song… Emo emo emo… Hahaha~

Rush for K2

~SingYee and me~

Rush for K3

~The other girl is LeiHong…~

Rush for K4

~And off we sing and drink~

I have to wait another few years for the rabbit year to come so I can enjoy this as well… 😛

I ate some of the best crabs in Labuan before coming back to UPM. Dad brings us out for dinner last Saturday night to this place called Anjung Ketam which is located somewhere near Tanjung Aru… Just go onto the road towards Wong Wo Lo 2 housing area and then keeping going straight till you see a road leading away from the bigger road with the sign, Tanjung Aru on it… And the place is also closeby SK Tanjung Aru I think… Travel for about 5 minutes or so on the straight road and then you’ll see a blue sign on the right side of the road… Turn in there and you will see the small seaside restaurant with the best crabs in Labuan…

Labuan's crabs 1

~The view at night~

Labuan's crabs 2

~One of the stalls there… There are a total of three stalls here~

Labuan's crabs 3

~The seaside restaurant… Unfortunately, there is nothing to see out at sea at night around here… And be ready with a sweater or wear something warm as the sea breeze will continuously chill you..~

Labuan's crabs 4

~Steamed crabs~

Labuan's crabs 5

~The best dish of the night… Butter Garlic Crabs… Simply amazing… I started off with the steamed crabs but had this for the rest of the night after I taken a bite of it… The dishes shown here are from the rightmost stall… Gerai No 1~

The crabs are just so nice… And the price was really quite cheap as well…

Lets see… We had.. 2 plates of the steamed crabs as shown above… And then 2 crabs of the butter garlic crabs… And then a steamed fish… And a plate of oyster sauce cooked kailan… And 2 jugs of lime plum juice… And all of us… A party of 10 people… 5 kids… Couldn’t finish all of it and ended up tapao-ing back…

The price???

RM 170

Considering that you had 10 people eating for it… Everyone only pays RM17… And then… I had my fill of crabs until I couldn’t take in anymore of it…

It felt like an all you can eat buffet of crabs for RM17… Totally worth it…

I’ll definitely come again…

Anyone care to join me??
