UPM Buses are terrible

If there is anyone reading this who would like to stay back in UPM during the holidays, please get a car…

If those reading this wants to send their child to UPM to study… Please read on and then reconsider…

I hate the buses here… Waited for almost 2 hours for the hourly K17 bus again… Before I moved towards the KMR bus stop area to get a taxi

Amazingly the taxi drivers there seemed to be the worst I’ve seen… RM8 for a trip to college… Impossible… That’s just pure extortion…

Asked them to use meter… They don’t want… Maybe I should report them… Next time I will… If they charge me ridiculous amount…

So in the end I started walking… Yup… The 2nd time in 2 weeks… Was about to reach Mardi when a nice Malay uncle (Must have been sent from above) stopped beside me and asked me where I’m headed and offered to send me there on his motorbike…

I hopped on… Without a helmet… And he really sent me to K17… Amazing… Why can’t there be more people like him…

If there are more people like that uncle, rather than those never-punctual bus drivers or those I’ll-leech-as-much-money-as-I-can-from-you taxi drivers… Then perhaps Malaysia will be a better place to live in…

UPM Convocation ‘Pro’ Photographers

Turns out they are not so pro after all… The on stage photos are terrible for some people… Really honestly terrible… Spent on it and now what should I do with it…? I might be able to take better photos… At least I’ll know when to press the shutter… When the eyes are open…

Cyberjaya’s Old Town Coffee and Secret Recipe.

I managed to visit the Old Town Coffee Shop and Secret Recipe shop in Cyberjaya recently.

Old Town Coffee shop can be found nearby the HBSC and Fujitsu company. The exact location should be in Prima Avenue.

I’ve been an avid visitor to Old Town shops all over KL. Sometimes having my breakfast there (My fav: Toasted bread with half boiled egg, topping it off with a glass of Iced Enriched Chocolate and I’ll be feeling in heaven.

~The settings is still the same~

But the same could not be said regarding the Old Town Coffee Shop in Prima Avenue. I ordered a bowl of Prawn Mee while my friend ordered the recently on promotion Hainan Chicken Chop rice. We were halfway through our meals when she decided that she wanted to have my meal instead. So we exchanged what we are eating and luckily we did.

It wasn’t long before I found something in the rice.

~Yup… Something sharp and something which look metal…~

And straight off I stopped eating… Lost my appetite to finish the meal… Not sure the sharp metal thing is fell accidentally there or what… But I complaint regarding it the to the waiters… They are good enough to allow me to have a new plate, by which I changed my mind after a while, a bit worried over what other surprises that may be expecting me with the new plate… (I just lost confidence with eating there)… Imagine if I wasn’t looking at what I was eating and swallowed it… I won’t be something I wanna think about…

In another way, it was lucky that my friend and I did changed what we are eating because I would have doubt that she will noticed it before eating. Thank God everything was ok in the end.

I’m not saying that Old Town ain’t a good shop but… precautions really have to be done towards making sure that incidents like these do not happen again.

On the other hand, since we didn’t really enjoyed the meal we had there, I brought us to the Secret Recipe shop a bit further away. And we really didn’t regret going.

The place was a heaven… I really fell in love with it upon entering the door. The sofas there are so soft and the place is just so relaxed… It was so calm and peaceful there when we arrived (There wasn’t any customers at the moment)… And I felt that I could really sink in my seat and not leave at all… The setting is just great… Truly a place to go to get out from the rushed and busy world outside… It felt like a getaway to someplace out of this world. Bravo Secret Recipe…

I really enjoyed the place… It help me to relax and think through a lot of things… Eventually helping me to arrived at the answer I was looking for… I wasn’t really feeling too good due to certain things that happened but a few hours of pondering there got me back into shape once more… And the decision I came upon will be hurtful but I guess being hurt is another part of growing up and become stronger…

Now… Perhaps I should bring a date next time with me to the Secret Recipe here :)

Personal thoughts of the Annual General Meeting

Was in charge of the Election Committee for the recent CSSUPM Annual General Meeting and frankly I wasn’t really satisfied with a lot of things…

First off… The committee itself… Yup… Only this time its worst than Malaysian time… The EC itself was in a disarray… No fixed jobs for each of the members… No real help when I asked for it… Sweats… I don’t wanna be part of something like that… Cuz in the end, felt like there wasn’t really any cooperation…

Secondly… Attendence… It was pathetic… When I arrived… Which was around 3pm… The time it was supposed to start…  I only see… 30+ members… Which includes the nominees and the retiring EXCO members.. Those who are there with nothing more than to vote was less than 10… Not to mention that some of the nominees couldn’t make it… Either they are absent a reason or just because they didnt wanna be elected… It’s really a headache you know… What does the Society really means to you??  And in the end everyone had to send out messages and then some have to drive out in the middle of the heavy rain to fetch you all… What la… Some even turned off their handphones and didn’t wanna answer their phones… How I wished I sent out an sms that day telling them that CSSUPM AGM is put on hold and will be put on probation and the activities including mass will be stopped.. And the society will most probably be closed down… And there won’t be anymore CSS… And sorts… Will those who didn’t come feel anything at all if it happened?? Was what happened in the camp just a moment thing…? Ish… Geram!!!

All in all… If this is your attitude towards the society… Then I really wonder why we need a society at all…

The habit of staying out the whole day and Malaysian time…

I’ve been quite busy recently… Noting last Friday at which I left my house at 7.40am and reach back my house at 11.00pm… A whole day out again… And why 11.00pm?? It was because of Psalms practice at chapel… Which I went straight after I got out of lab…

It is these type of schedule which I grew to dislike a lot… The habit of doing something in the morning, afternoon and later night… Without having the chance to even go home and take a bath or lie on my bed to rest a while… Really builds up the tension at times…

What’s worst sometimes is that when I do have activities at night… Which I sometimes have… And it requires me to go to the meet after lab… without returning home first (Since returning home may mean a good bath… but will also mean extra walking and rushing… And possibly a more tired me)… and when I arrived at the place of the meet… I found it dark, and empty…

Not once, not twice but several times… I had to wait another 20-30mins before there is actually someone else arriving at the area… And I thought I was the one late… but in fact… I’m the earliest…

There was even once, a meet was set at 8pm… At which I went from lab… Arriving a bit late at 8.15pm… The place was dark and there was people waiting outside… The meet has not started… And then came a phone call from the person who organized the meet saying she’ll arrived in 30 minutes time… I almost fainted after hearing it…

Please do not follow the so called Malaysian time.. People who have to use public transport and without the pleasure of riding car may eventually resort to cursing you for the time you wasted…

*really not in a good mood recently*
