Delayed post – The story of the pearl tea

I was observing this young mother while waiting for Lei Hong and her sister to finish shopping at Skudai Parade. She was lining up to buy some pearl tea in front of the Econsave here. Despite being a mummy she looked pretty and fragile. Her husband and daughter, I presume, was standing outside the store waiting for the girl to finish buying her pearl tea. She was lining up waiting for her turn when three teenage boys suddenly cut into the line in front of her. She seemed a bit annoyed but determined to buy the drink and so she waited patiently. Even her husband moved to her and said to stop waiting and both of them moved away after a little while. What surprised me was that the mummy returned a while later and continue to line up. Her husband was not with her but I saw him observing her from a distance. She finally got the drink and moved away and her husband follow suit.

In the mere 5 minutes or so that this happen I was feeling a mixture of emotion from disgust for the teenage boy attitudes to admiration of the determination and patience of the young mother. And the loving glance of her husband watching over her.

Perhaps the teenage boys may have gotten the pearl tea but the young mummy was obviously blessed with perhaps what the boys didn’t even realize. She has the attitude which will draw the admiration of many and most of all the love from her loving family.

And as the little beautiful daughter watch her mother throughout this short story of the pearl tea, perhaps she will one day realize of the love and determination her mother has.

Delayed post – My first wedding assignment.

Delayed post. Entry was written on the 4th of June 2010

I’ll be having my first wedding assignment tomorrow. And I’m feeling so stressed. A lot of what-ifs are playing in my head now. What if I don’t take good photos? What if I screw up? What if I did a mistake and ruin the ceremony? A lot of whatifs. Alvin gave me a lot of advice this morning. Even lending me his Sigma 18-250mm for the wedding shoot. Most probably will be using that and a Tokina 11 to 16mm. Hope all will go well. And I’m seriously sleep deprived as well now.

Moments away from my NSF interview

I feeling as if my heart will jump out of its socket… My head is frankly… just blank… Blank… I don’t think I could answer the questions which they would pose to me… Its now down to two more presenters before me… I’ll faint… Really… I will…

Updated: The interview was horrible… Its the type that could make you think twice about whether you made the correct choice to do PhD… Sigh… Really an eyeopener to me…

I’m becoming an auntie

Just back from shopping and I have the feeling that I’m starting to turn into a auntie out shopping… Especially when what I bought is toilet tissue, dish washer, those cookable items etc… Can call me Auntie Alan already

Juniors found me

One of my new direct junior found me today. I was like huh. How did she know that we’re related. And there the story came out. My cover was blown not by the first years nor the second years but by the third years. Haiz. There goes the fun. Too many party poopers this time…

~Updated (11th July): Apparently she only know that I’m someone else’s senior… And she hadn’t found out that someone else is my junior buddy… So the game is still on… But I’m walking on very thin ice…~

~Updated (15th July): Game is halfway over… One recognized me already… So left the other…But since the other is really very quiet I think it’ll be me to approach her instead… ~

My dying laptop

It seems to me that not only is my mouse dying. My laptop seems to me as if it will kick the bucket sometime soon. Tried to online this morning with a cable but it didn’t work. And then used wireless to connect and it work. So weird. I think the hardware is dying. Will be sending it to the factory this evening. Hope to get it back soon though. Haiz.

Updated: Apparently once I reach back home and plug in my home’s LAN cable… It can work again.. ZZZ… Same with the mouse… Unplug it and then plug it again… It works again…ZZZ

Shopping with Justina

I’m out shopping with Justina. For a girl, she really spend a lot of time deciding what to buy. One and a half hour had passed and all she bought was an extension cable, a rubbish bin, a storage box, colgate and a few random see-and-then-throw into the trolley items… The real shopping only starts in the final ten minutes… When the supermarket is closing… One half hour we have and she looked around until the final ten minutes and then because of the lack of time… Went one round and just pick and throw… Sweats… Girls and their shopping… How come so hard for them to make up their mind? :P

Dead mouse

My laptop mouse died again… I’m not sure if it committed suicide or something… But I think its because of viral infection or hardware problem… Sigh

Signpost at UPM

I’m back in UPM… And it seems that I have a map stuck to me or something… 30 minutes just passed and already 4 different foreigners ask me about places in UPM… The library la, the bank la, K17 la, South City la… Ha ha. If I didn’t know better it seems they are welcoming me back here :P
