First day in Lab – Dilemma…
The dilemma is due to sensitive issues that may arise when I’m conducting my project especially the specimen collection part… Lets just say that the methods I thought would work (The ones with less sensitive issues) may not work on its own… And the extra methods… May be crossing the sensitivity border…
What can be done now is… To discuss this problem with the Dr’s Postgraduate student who is doing on the same virus and try to see if my methods can work on its own or not… Or… To change to a less sensibly topic… Or… To just pull through out of this dilemma…
Considering what’s playing on my mind now… Pulling through might not be easy at all…
Euro 2008 finals: Who am I supporting?
I am a supporter of Turkey after their dramatic late comebacks against Switzerland, Czech, Croatia and their fine performance against Germany which unfortunately didn’t go their way… But since their out… I guess I’ll have to make a choce between the final 2 teams…
So I choose…
Got this bottle off The Guardian
Why?
Simply because I think they play better football than Germany… Statistics even show that their shots on target are even more than Germany’s…
So, GO SPAIN~~~

My first day back in UPM -26th June 2008 (A late post)
The first thing I noticed when I entered my house is this…

~I can’t stand those cute puppy eyes lor~
So on the contrary to having this in the house,
We also have a dog… More and more like a zoo… But I guess that’s ok… Since the last owners of this house are also mostly animals… Haha… There was a ‘pig’, a ‘giraffe’, a ’snake’, a ‘tiger’ or a ‘lion’ (status unknown) and a ‘teacher’ (what’s the teacher doing there anyway)… Those are the old housemates of where I’m living at… And their nicknames as well…

I flew back in a hurry to get a few things done before the 30th… Which are the application for the National Science Fellowship and the application for the Kuok Foundation Post-graduate Funds (or something like that I think) and besides having those foreigners asking me about where is where, I managed to picked up my final semester examination transcript at the Academic Department and my Offer Letter from GSO only 3 hours after reaching home from the airport (which really is quite fast considering I left home at 3 and finished everything at 5… on foot somemore…)
The tiring part of the whole journey will have to be the walk to GSO… Now why put the office up on a hill and so far away from the main area anyway… There was no bus running when I was there either… So I resorted to what I could do… Walk

~Where I am… And where I think the office is at…~

~The roads are not straight going up the hill somemore~

~Halfway I thought this was it… But it’s not… This is the faculty of agriculture…~

~And then I saw someone hiking as well…~

~And Alan has finally landed…~
Amazingly… It took only 15 minutes… Haha… Surprised me as well… But then that walk I had a few weeks back from Kawasan restaurant (near Bukit Serdang) back to Old Flat (where I stay) took around 20 minutes… Its funny how sometimes you think the places are far… And it only took you so short a time to reach it on foot… Maybe I can try walking to my faculty next
The reason why I tried to apply for the scholarships and go through all these troubles (I started to fill in the forms and typing a new proposal on Tuesday and finished up everything with PosLaju on Friday) and walking up the hill, doing this and that… even though I felt that there may no be enough time or I may not make it… I think its because I felt that I shouldn’t give up… I’m the lazy type who easily gives up when something seems somewhat impossible… But if this attitude is to remain with me, then the few years of postgraduate will be tough… Let’s just hope that this is the beginning of a change for me
Signpost at UPM
I’m back in UPM… And it seems that I have a map stuck to me or something… 30 minutes just passed and already 4 different foreigners ask me about places in UPM… The library la, the bank la, K17 la, South City la… Ha ha. If I didn’t know better it seems they are welcoming me back here
The silent wait at home…
I’m back at Labuan since the 2nd of June… And have been waiting impatiently for a letter to arrive… A letter which states that I’m accepted to continue post graduate studies in UPM for PhD… A letter which so far hasn’t shown up… A letter which some of my coursemates had already obtained…
Wondering whether my letter have been missent and possibly on its way to France or something… I called the people at the School of Graduate studies earlier today…
And what they tell me is to wait…~~ Apparently my faculty there haven’t approved of my admission into post graduate studies… And I’ll have to wait till the 27th of June for them to meet and finally have a conclusion for all those other applicants who hadn’t obtained their approval letter…
Now normally if I do have lotsa time, I wouldn’t mind waiting till 27th… However, the application for some of the fellowships (more commonly known as scholarships) which I hope to obtained will have their registration closed days after the 27th… Now… I just have a simple request for those staff handling this… COULD YOU PLEASEEEE HURRY UP??
~~
Anyway… A few more things to add is that… My results are out… And I’ll be graduating with First-Class Honors… Hurray… But frankly much of what I’ve learned is somewhere buried inside the depths of my memory… And it seems that it may be a task to retrieve those memories…
~~
I have the urge to blog about a few things recently… Only to find that I don’t really know how to start typing about it… One would be… about Understanding Alan (I’ve been doing certain things throughout my life which may bring up questions from others like… ”Why are you doing it?” and ”You really don’t have to, you know” and so forth…) Something else which I have wanted to do for sometime is to do another project on the CSSUPM blog… I have the idea… But well… The spirit is willing but the body is weak… But it’ll be up… Don’t worry…
~~
Cheers to all… Enjoy the Euro Cup…
I’ll be updating soon
~Updated 24th June 08 – Apparently I found out why it’s hard to type a post on Understanding Myself… Since… I don’t even know why I do half the things I did… ~
The Suzumiya Haruhi dance.
I’ve noticed this dance a while back… (I don’t own any of the videos here)
It was cool at first… Especially when something like this come from an anime…
Its the ending dance from The Melanchony of Suzumiya Haruhi…
~This is the original dance~
Now apparently this dance became quite famous in many places until cosplayers and other ordinary human beings being addicted to it and trying to perform it on their own..
And I came across quite a few on Youtube (Ahh… The wonders of Youtube…)
~This is one according to the uploader is taken at a cosplay event in Thailand… They did it really well actually~
And there are those not so well ones and very terrible ones… (I’m not putting any of those up though… but you can find it at Youtube)
But what amazed me the most will be this…
~Yup… Prisoners… Amazing right??… They did other different dances as well… eg: Thiller by Michael Jackson~
